Going forward, Elektrum will be Latvenergo’s main brand

As it expands renewable energy generation capacity and increases energy exports, electric vehicle charging and electricity sales across the region, Latvenergo AS has decided that, going forward, its leading brand will be Elektrum.

As a versatile and highly regarded brand in the Baltic region, Elektrum has helped Latvenergo become one of the leading players in electricity generation and sales across the Baltic states, while opening up opportunities for growth elsewhere in Europe. The company’s exports now account for 40% of the Group's turnover.

The company will retain Latvenergo as the Group's corporate brand and legal name. At the same time, Elektrum will be the company’s leading public-facing brand, reducing the Group's brand maintenance costs without further investment in the Latvenergo brand. The transition to the Elektrum brand will be gradual, with branding at various physical locations replaced as existing equipment reaches the end of its useful life. Leading energy companies in Estonia and Lithuania have consolidated their brands in recent years.

Mārtiņš Čakste, CEO of Elektrum Group: “We are a Latvian company, but we consider the entire Baltic region our home market and see potential for growth beyond it. Elektrum is already a leader in retail electricity sales and EV charging in the Baltic region, with more than 900 000 customers. We are also one of the region’s largest energy producers. The Elektrum brand is well suited for international communication, and its recent update has made it more modern and consumer-friendly.”

Elektrum Group's renewable energy portfolio has expanded rapidly in 2026, with several wind farms beginning operations in Latvia (Kaigas and Pienava) and Lithuania (Telšiai and Akmenė), alongside other projects, such as the largest solar park in Latvia, in Aizpute.
