Cooperation with universities
We cooperate purposefully with higher education institutions to support the growth of young specialists and strengthen the link between education and the working environment. By supporting educational initiatives, student events and career activities, we help young people gain knowledge, experience and inspiration for future achievements.
We cooperate with the University of Latvia (UL) to provide theoretical and practical training for future industry specialists and to support research, the development of an innovative study and work environment, and the transfer of knowledge and technology to the workplace.
Work is already under way on research that will be used to analyse future electricity generation options in Latvia. Elektrum Group sees several potential future cooperation opportunities with UL faculties – IT, chemistry, geography, physics and other fields.
Over time, one of Elektrum Group's closest partnerships has developed with Latvia's oldest higher education institution, Riga Technical University. Close and diverse ties have formed in both scientific research and professional development, by supporting academic work and offering internship opportunities.
Intensive cooperation with RTU also takes place in improving the study process – our employees take part as guest lecturers, and competitions are organised for students, with scholarships awarded to the best of them and to the authors of the best final theses.
The Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) is an important partner of Elektrum Group – the institution plays an important role in maintaining Latvia's overall energy supply, as LBTU trains the specialists our industry needs for the operation of hydraulic structures. Without these specialists, the high-quality functioning of the Daugava hydropower plants, and therefore the country's electricity supply, would not be possible.
Together we strive to raise the level of theoretical and practical knowledge of future engineering specialists, to improve innovative study programmes and the study environment, and to cooperate in research and in providing internship placements.
Competitions and grants
We support purposeful and talented young people who shape the future with their knowledge, ideas and achievements. Competitions and scholarships are a way to recognise your contribution and encourage you to keep growing.
Through these initiatives, we may be able to help you develop your potential, achieve ambitious goals and take the next steps towards success.
Every year, Elektrum Group holds a scholarship competition for graduates of higher education institutions for the duration of work on their final theses. Apply if you are also writing a thesis on a topic relevant to one of Elektrum Group's areas of activity.
