Electromobility

Elektrum, under its Elektrum Drive trade brand, is developing an electric vehicle charging network in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The charging infrastructure is being built with the Group's own investment and cooperation partners, as well as by attracting co-financing from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the construction of high-power charging stations.

Elektrum Group's experience

Since 2011, when Elektrum registered the first electric cars in Latvia, Fiat Fiorino Elettrico, the Group has been researching and following the development of electromobility.

In 2019, the country's first commercial charging stations were opened under Elektrum Group's trade brand Elektrum, and they now offer more than 1,500 charging connectors in the Baltics. The Elektrum Drive charging station network is being built on a demand-driven basis, giving customers fast and slow charging options, as well as a convenient user experience with a purpose-built app and a payment system based on the amount of electricity charged.

The amount of electricity charged at our charging stations, and the number of unique electric cars charged there, grows every day. This confirms that the idea of electromobility is growing and developing in Latvia too.

Naturally, as an extensive electric vehicle charging network develops, electricity demand for transport will grow, so changes are also expected in the electricity distribution and supply network infrastructure.

Our offer

Elektrum Group, under the Elektrum Drive brand, provides a full range of electromobility services to private individuals, businesses and partners across the Baltics.

Public charging network in the Baltics

The Elektrum Drive public charging network brings together more than 1,500 connectors in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The network includes everyday alternating current (AC) stations with a capacity of 11–22 kW, as well as fast and high-power direct current (DC) chargers with a capacity of up to 300+ kW. All Elektrum Drive stations supply 100% renewable electricity for charging, and payment is based on the kilowatt-hours actually consumed.

App and flexible payments

Charging services are managed with the Elektrum Drive mobile app, which shows station availability, capacity and tariffs in real time. Users can choose the payment method that suits them best – immediate payment by bank card or a post-payment agreement, which allows receiving a single summary invoice at the end of the month. Card payment terminals for immediate payment are also being gradually introduced at high-power stations.

Solutions for company fleets and partnerships

For business customers, Elektrum provides company fleet electrification projects with centralised consumption metering, construction of charging stations at office or production sites, and authorisation cards for employees. Cooperation is also being developed with owners of real estate and retail locations by installing public charging stations at shopping centres, hotels and logistics parks.

Expertise and electric car tests

To help make informed decisions, the Elektrum Energy Efficiency Centre provides access to the region's most extensive catalogue of independent electric car tests, which compiles real-world consumption, range and charging speed data for more than 100 electric car models in real Latvian driving conditions.
