To promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, Latvenergo AS, with the support of the Modernisation Fund, is implementing the project "Purchase of electric vehicles and construction of charging infrastructure", No. MF-1/2
Project objective
Project objective: to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the company's business operations by ensuring wider use of electric vehicles and the development of charging infrastructure. The project plans to purchase new M1 category electric vehicles and to set up new electric vehicle charging points.
Project implementation deadline: 10 December 2026
Modernisation Fund co-financing: EUR 40,876.03
Market development
The use of electric cars is growing worldwide, and naturally this is also happening in Latvia. Although their number is currently small, it is expected to reach significant levels in this decade. This will require an extensive electric vehicle charging network, and new business models will emerge as the e-mobility service offers various additional types of service.
